You are now on a quest to be the very best trainer in all the land! In your own, special way. I mean, everyone has their own thing they seek in the Pokemon world, right? Some want to gather badges. Other people participate in contests! Still others decide to devote their life to research and becoming a Pokemon Professor.


1. You're in a Pokemon battle! Is it a friendly battle? Is it a heated match between destined rivals? Or are you just mugging some preschoolers for their lunch money?

2. Either 1 went pretty well and you're just chillaxing, or 1 went pretty poorly and you're recuperating and healing up, or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 1 because you didn't just fight a Pokemon battle. Regardless of the reasons, you are now at a Pokemon Center.

3. You are traveling on some route or another and enjoying the scenic vistas and the epic scenery of wherever you are. Or maybe you're getting ready to camp out for a while? Well. You're just stopping and smelling the metaphorical roses.

4. You are lost. So this is kind of like 3 except it's less enjoying the ride and more going oh crap what is this this is a cave I wasn't supposed to go into a cave was I? I can't use surf how am I supposed to get through this lake crap.

5. You're participating in a contest! You're getting ready to, you're appealing, you're sabotaging your competition, whatever it takes to get that ribbon.

6. You are somehow involved with a Pokemon Daycare. Maybe your Pokemon is expecting? Maybe you've got this...this egg you gotta haul about until it hatches. Or maybe you don't have enough cash to get your beloved Rattata back so now you're mugging preschoolers for their lunch money. It's a very dark and dire business you're involved with.

[Sayaka enjoys just hanging out with her Pokémon; she considers them to be close friends, after all. Though, she will battle every now and then when she feels up to it. Other than that, she likes to take them on tours with her and have them perform alongside her.]

[Heloise is a bit too young as well as a bit too... unconventional to be considered your standard Pokemon Professor. She's more of a rogue scientific prodigy, although her work is of interest to the CEO of a certain company, who funds her "unique" research.

[Well.. THAT didn't go how he planned. Maybe it was just unfortunate type match-ups, or the fact his team wasn't in peak fighting condition, or maybe he underestimated her because of her age.. Whatever the case, she got the upper hand and wiped him out before he had much of a chance to react. Lucky shots and critical hits, that had to be it.

He swallows his pride and calls back his last fainted pokemon into it's pokeball. Ugh. Now he's just gotta fork over the cash...]

[Apparently a relative of his over in Kalos developed the Holo Caster, and recently got a lot of attention for something called Team Flare? Leon doesn't know all the details, he's the kind of guy who does things his own way, with burning enthusiasm. His team especially seems to reflect that, and he can get really competitive when it comes to battles.]

[Whether or not Leon was expecting to have any company other than his own pokemon on the route he's camping out on, he's about to get some. Said company will be in the form of something nudging curiously at one of his pockets since it hasn't quite had the chance to rummage through his bag just yet while he's not looking.

What's a random Aron doing in the middle of a route it's not even native to? Who knows, but it's definitely trying to discreetly fit it's steel nose into Leon's pocket. That's happening.]

[Viceroy is a scientist for hire, happily working for any dubious organization that's willing to pay his steep fee. He's taken part in countless world-dominating schemes, but always manages to bow out just as the plot starts to predictably fall apart. Almost like that was the plan all along...

As long as he's not under contract, this mad scientist is surprisingly civil. His team is fairly powerful in battle, but he's more interested in keeping them happy and healthy. They're more of a threat in the Beauty Contest circles than anything! Well, as long as their master doesn't wind up working for someone who's ideas actually work.]

[Asahina is a trainer less likely to train her pokemon than, well, train with her pokemon. She'll spend hours racing with them in the water and treats them as her dear friends.]

((Despite being listed, Fearow is not officially registered as Fluttershy's Pokemon. He is actually one of the many wild Pokemon that Fluttershy cares for, as her home is a Pokemon Sanctuary of sorts where ill or injured wild Pokemon are taken care of.

Fluttershy isn't really a combative trainer, and prefers taking care of Pokemon (with the help of her Blissey and Audino) than battling with them. Also, while it is mostly unknown except for closer friends, Fluttershy also has the ability to communicate with Pokemon, able to speak with them and understand their feelings, which also helps her in her care of them. Her Pokemon therefore, and Fearow in particular, are very protective of her, and of the Pokemon she cares for.))

[Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were currently stopped at a Pokemon center for some R and R. Hanging out outside with there Pokemon running around, Rainbow Dash was trying to get a battle out of Fluttershy.]

((As a Pokemon watcher and an assistant to Professor Oak, Tracey is more of an observer to Pokemon than a battler. He's very good at what he does, though, able to view Pokemon from a great distance, and match his breathing with theirs to remain undetected. He can easily observe the difference between a healthy and unhealthy Pokemon, and is a talented artist.

As an assistant, he is also very good at taking care of Pokemon, and is very knowledgeable.))

One day he'll inherit it, but for now he's an excitable dork who doesn't seem to take battling very seriously. As a result he's prone to making a lot of mistakes, but at least he's learning and getting better, and always having fun.]

To an outsider, like one of the trainers who sometimes challenged the dojo, it might look a little odd for Randy and his team to be training against someone who apparently has no pokemon of their own out. But this is special ninja training, so perhaps it works a bit differently.

Or at least that's what most people assume. "Maybe that guy is really a pokemon" rarely crosses their minds, and that's just the way Nomi wants it. You don't get to be an 800 year old Zoroark without utterly mastering the art of illusion, after all.]

If you truly wish to become a great ninja, you must be as disciplined as you are strong. One more time - strike only when the moment is right.

[Dib is that kid who may be the son of one of the most reputable and well-known scientists in the world, but is absolutely obsessed with the paranormal and mysteries of the world around him. No surprises here, in other words.

His team is a ragtag collection of understudied pokemon with unusual properties or myths surrounding them - or so he'd like to say, but they're really just what he could manage to catch and what would actually bother putting up with him. Dib spends more of his time running after crazy stories and weird rumors than actually training, so while his partners may have a bit of potential, their overall organization tends to be a bit of a mess. It doesn't help that some of them virtually never listen to him, either.]

[That other kid of the previously mentioned well-known scientist. She's more interested in playing her video games than anything else, but somehow all of her pokemon are terrifyingly strong anyway. Newcomers usually learn this the hard way.]

[And while I'm here not going to bed, have an AU account I already had set up so why the hell not. Gabriel is one of many adopted sons of a somewhat sketchy professor, Prof. Wily. Like most of his siblings, he has a nickname used among them - Gemini, in reference to the fact that he's trained his Ditto to take on his own form, making a "twin" of himself.

Gabriel puts beauty, style, and fashion at the top of his priorities, and seeks to become a Beauty contest champion. Of course, he's also an enormous narcissist, hence the whole "Ditto twin" act...

His team was hand-picked and rigorously sought out for their looks and capabilities. Yes, he paid an arm and a leg for certain unusual colorations in a couple of cases, but it's worth it to keep the color theme going! And if you're wondering about the derptastic Zangoose, it's worth noting that Gabriel is absolutely TERRIFIED of snakes. One of his closer brothers ADORES snakes. And is also kind of a huge jerk. So yeah.]

[So you see this kid here? He can be found on the grounds of that ninja dojo that belongs to Randy's family. Surely he's just a normal guy training with the-

hahahaha no but really he's an 800-year-old Zoroark who's aided and trained the Norisu line for generations. His original trainer was the first of the line, and it is Nomi's duty to pass down his knowledge and preserve the integrity and legacy of the ninja.

Of course, the only people who know this are those of the Norisu family. And probably Howard. It's kind of a secret. To everyone else, he's just that stick-in-the-mud serious ninja kid who trains Randy and wonders why him a lot.]

The Narrator | Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

[The Host of "The Devil's Playhouse", a popular supernatural mystery radio drama program broadcast from Goldenrod City Radio Tower in Johto, is something of an enigma. Perhaps he's a little too into his mysterious character, but for whatever reason no one even seems to be sure what his full name is. Only that his initials are "S.E.", apparently.
While his Roserade is very loyal, the Bunnelby he looks after, meanwhile, is quite the curiosity itself...]

Max | Sam & Max

[There's shiny Pokemon, and then there's complete freaks of nature. No matter how you slice it, Max is unquestionably the latter.
For one thing, he's nearly three times the size of a normal Bunnelby, standing about 3 feet tall. He also has razor sharp teeth, as though one of his parents were a Sableye and he somehow took on that trait.
And then there's the fact he can talk. Yes, in full human speech. Whether or not this is learned or came naturally is difficult to say, but likely not important.

Finally, while he HAS a trainer...
He doesn't appear to be aware of this fact. It's like his human "companion" might as well not even exist. What man in a monochrome suit? He doesn't see or hear anyone.
Whether or not this is a conscious choice to pretend the human is entirely silent and invisible or a result of Max's own questionable sanity is a mystery all its own. But one, as you can imagine, that's exceptionally frustrating to a certain someone.]

[Well if talking, 3-foot Bunnelby with fangs like a Sableye can exist, then why can't equally linguistically inclined Herdier in suits be a thing? A very....strange thing.

It comes to no surprise that Sam hangs around Max 99% of the time, both for the sake of his own sanity and the well being of everyone so unfortunate to come into contact with the sadistic fluffball. Don't try petting this bunny, kids. Might lose a few of those fingers you're so attached to. Either way, Sam doesn't seem to have a trainer like Max does, and yet that doesn't bother him in the slightest. Funnily enough, while Max doesn't seem to ever acknowledge his trainer's presence, Sam sure as heck does. Not very often but...eh, now and then at the very least. You kinda have to when you're both working to make sure Max doesn't do something everyone will regret.]
