three. Awkward first kisses! Maybe you just bumped noses, or you kissed their chin instead. Time for attempt number two!

[Nobody could say that Team RWBY didn't like to keep busy. While they seemed to enjoy involving themselves in all sorts of trouble that no first year students should really get into, and while stuff did seem to have a habit of exploding around them, inevitably there were always those days where things were just...normal.

And it was days like those that the fact that Team RWBY was comprised of a bunch of teenagers became readily apparent.]

So Neptune!

[Enjoying a brief recess between classes, Yang was seated on a bench in the school courtyard, twisted a little in her seat to speak with the blue-haired member of Team SSSN on the adjacent bench behind her.]

I heard you've got another date with Weiss coming up.

[And by "heard", she means Weiss has been stressing out about which shoes and dress to wear for the past week.

See? Teenagers. Gossiping about teammates and relationships.]

[To date, Yang still wasn't convinced Penny hadn't hit her head that first day they'd run into her. Honestly? She was kinda weird. Not necessarily in a bad way...buuuut not necessarily in a good way either. However, Ruby had a knack for picking good, if unusual, friends so she'd trust her sister's judgement on this one.

But when an interesting series of circumstances had resulted in Yang being stuck with- er, getting to spend an afternoon with Penny sans Ruby, she was understandably at some loss of what to do with the girl. Somehow they'd wandered to a small courtyard and garden park where Yang had plopped herself down onto the nearest bench, half to take a moment to figure out what else the two of them could actually do together and half to just...take a break. Girl had a lot of questions.

An excited cheer from somewhere nearby had her looking up curiously though and when she turned to look, she could see a couple on a far bench. And from the looks of it, one of them had just successfully proposed.

Folding her arms over the edge of the bench, she smiled appreciatively at the sight, momentarily forgetting her companion.]

Awwww, that's so sweet.

Professor Sycamore was pleased to welcome anyone new to his lab. He had heard of a prince wanting to visit and he was very excited to welcome him here. In fact, he had even come down to the entrance to welcome him. It was very exciting to meet new people, and especially someone like him.

"My name is Professor Augustine Sycamore, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to Lumiose City!" He held out his hand to shake it. "Did you find your way around alright? I hope the map that you were given helped, it's a very large place!"

13 and growing up in Wellington?

[There were plenty of kids in Wellington, sure, but most of them were either teenagers or really little. There weren't many other kid-kids, especially after they stopped taking more survivors (Shaun and his dad had arrived back when Wellington's proverbial arms were still open, at least a year before, probably, even though no one really kept track of the date now. It was such and such amount of days since the Outbreak, only so many days left until the harvest season, and that was really all that mattered).

So of course he was surprised when the gates opened, and a girl (his age! She was his age!) walked in, a tiny baby in one arm and a beat-up old orange ballcap in her hand along with the blue and white one she had on her head.

It'd been two years since then. They were thirteen now (well, Clementine had just turned 13 and Shaun was about to turn 14), and it was winter again, which was good because it made the walkers slow. Clementine had been slow to open up to him, and he still didn't know a lot of things about what she'd been through (it was easy to tell that she'd been through a lot), but he hadn't told her about listening to his mom and dad argue in hushed tones over what to do about Jason, and he hadn't told her about the way he'd been struck speechless when he saw his brother's eyes flutter open, milky and lifeless, from where he sat cradled in their mom's arms. How he hadn't warned her before Jason bared his teeth and sank them into her neck.

He didn't tell her about the silence that nearly consumed his dad, afterward, or how he'd gotten separated one day while he was trying to find supplies, and he'd been so afraid that his dad didn't care, wouldn't come, didn't notice, or how his dad looked, clothes soaked with rain and blood and walker guts, his left arm missing just below the elbow, tourniquet around his arm and a blood-soaked, still-dripping bandage wrapped around the stump.

It took him longer than it should've to notice the sad way she sometimes looked at his dad's arm.

But they were safe now, it was safe in Wellington. So they didn't have to talk about the past if they didn't want, and Shaun wouldn't ask if Clem didn't want to tell.]

[Shaun climbed up on the pile of sandbags, sitting down next to her with a shy smile. The trouble with being friends, with having someone else his age, was that now...

Shaun had a little bit of a crush on her.]

[Neptune had been taking the time to get to know some of the people that Sun had introduced him to, and a lot of them seemed to be pretty cool. Of course they were, though. Sun really seemed to know how to pick them, even if he wasn't trying to do so on purpose.

But Jaune? Jaune was a little different. Neptune found himself almost feeling bad for Jaune for multiple reasons, but more than anything else he admired his tenacity. If nothing else, the guy didn't seem like he was going to give up. At least, not from what he could see. So he saw it as a good thing when he decided to have a little sparring match with the team leader to see just where his strengths lay.]

Okay dude, I know you've done this before.

[Neptune smiles, weighing his glaive in one hand as he regards his opponent from the opposite side of the field.]

Just come at me when you're ready.

[It was the end of the school year at Beacon and naturally, there was a big dance and party to celebrate surviving graduating to the next year. With the preparations and hosting taken care of by a committee of older students this time, Team RWBY had been free to fully enjoy the festivities. Well-earned considering how "busy" their first year had been.

Yang strode into the dance hall, positively glowing in a new golden orange ensemble. Stopping just inside, she scanned the hall for her teammates, searching for one of them in particular.]

[The Summer Festival so far has been far more eventful for Rongo than he would have liked. Etera's stunt still has the weretiger on edge, so much so that his burly muscles are showing in fine relief over his frame, where normally the only obvious thing about them is simply their size.

The sun is just setting as he breathes a sigh of relief, walking alongside Lockjaw and finding an all too rare moment of solace in the thylacine's calm and steady outward demeanor. He looks at his friend and smiles, shaking his head a moment as he thinks about Eta's attitude. He'll be sure to whip that boy into shape one of these days, so that this won't happen again.

But...in the meantime...]

Lockjaw, would you like to go down to the lakeside with me? There's a spot down there that's lit up for the festival, and I've been told it's quite nice to look at during the night.

Now the two of them were heading down the sidewalk near the docks, though Blake was hanging back a few steps from her teammate, looking off down at the sidewalk somewhere in thought.]
