six. UST kisses. There's been some sort of tension between you for a while. Maybe you fight all the time, maybe you're in love with each other and you keep getting interrupted before anything happens. Either way, that tension needs to end now!

That's it exactly, actually.

[She looked up and off toward the sky at a diagonal as they walked, resting her hands together in front of her.]

When I was small, birthdays lost their charm pretty fast. I was always too busy with the White Fang; it always seemed like there was another news story, or a protest to be arranged and attended. And then when the group turned violent, there was always another fight, another robbery... more strife.

And, after a while, my birthdays became a reminder that yet another year has passed without any real change. So... they lost their magic, over time.

[Yang's expression had steadily shifted to a sympathetic, almost sad smile as Blake explained.

Towards the end of that reply though, she'd stopped. Already facing Blake, she put her hand out to lightly catch the front of her partner's shoulder. Leaning in a little, she gave her a gentle smile.]

All the more reason to make this one special, don't you think?

[Starting with a birthday kiss.]

[She stopped at the gesture, looking up at her with subdued surprise. When her partner leaned in more, she automatically moved to do the same-]

LOUD

ship horn blared out in the bay, startling her and making her jump.

And then wince back while rubbing her forehead, which had just bumped into Yang's.]

[No really, that was loud; loud enough to surprise Yang as well so the forehead bumping had been completely mutual...and a little bit extra painful because of that.

Rubbing a palm to her forehead, she sent an irritated look out at the bay where the offending ship was pulling out.]

Well, there goes that ship.

[There's an unusual sound to be heard right now.

Blake was giggling, one arm folded over her stomach as the other stayed near her mouth, her shoulders shaking as she was turned away from Yang some.]

[Okay, it was impossible to be annoyed with the sound of that laughter. Yang looks back at Blake with a little bit of surprise at first and then starts giggling as well.

Once the laughing has subsided a bit, she gives Blake a cheery smile.]

Okay. Maybe try that again?

[Still giggling some, she nodded.]

That sounds like a good plan to me.

[And she placed a hand around behind Yang's head, leaning into a soft kiss.]

[This is much better. Take two has considerably less interrupting ship horn and a lot more actual lips touching.

Yang smiles into the kiss, letting her forehead and nose rest lightly and contentedly against Blake's.]
