one. It's your first date, and you're dropping them off at the door. Are they going to lean in? Should you..?

two. You have been friends since forever. Everyone knows you like each other, but the moment quite hasn't arisen for the first kiss. Until now.

three. Awkward first kisses! Maybe you just bumped noses, or you kissed their chin instead. Time for attempt number two!

four. Maybe this is your very first kiss, or maybe it's theirs! Either way, one of you is experienced and the other isn't. What if it turns out really bad?! (But hey, maybe you're a natural.)

five. The accidental kiss. Might have tripped over your own feet, or maybe you've collided and they landed on top of you. Either way, your lips are locked- Where you go from there is up to you.

six. UST kisses. There's been some sort of tension between you for a while. Maybe you fight all the time, maybe you're in love with each other and you keep getting interrupted before anything happens. Either way, that tension needs to end now!

[She blinked at the question, gazing at her a moment and then gave a gentle smile.]

Well, I think we make a really great team.

[Which causes no response except for a long, pointed stare.]

[She gazes quietly back at her, as if waiting for Blake to react or say something in response, before something in her expression shifts.]

Oh...

[It's odd to see somebody like Yang Xiao Long seem hesitant about anything, but she seems to be picking her words incredibly careful when she begins to speak, one hand reaching up to sift through some locks of her blonde hair.]

Look, Blake...I...

[Her eyes closed in the hesitation, her head coming down slightly.]

I see. [She turned, starting to head back toward the stairs.]

Thank you... for your answer.

[She wasn't expecting her response to be interrupted, much less for Blake to start leaving before she could finish, and she moved quickly to grab a hold of her partner's hand again.]

Hey, wait...!

[She stopped but didn't turn, instead her expression and shoulders tensed.]

Look, Yang, I understand alright? I just thought I'd ask-

Ask me about us. And being together, right?

...You didn't let me finish...

[She doesn't sound angry, or hurt, or sad even. The statement's put very gently, perhaps even with a smile if Blake looks.]

[She was on the cusp of saying she didn't have to finish, she got it, when she decided to turn around.

And stopped, seeing Yang's face full on, a soft sort of surprise coming into her expression. When Yang reached and took her second hand, pulling her completely around, she found her breath quickening, unable to take her eyes off her face.]

[The expression on Yang's face practically radiates warmth and affection as she turns Blake around. There's no hesitation of any sort from her this time as she gently holds her hands. Just a slow, steady leaning in until her lips touch Blake's in a light kiss.]

[Her eyes opened wide as an inhale hitched, momentarily stiffening in the surprise of the kiss.]

[Then after a moment she relaxed into it, while turning her hands so she could take Yang's with them, lacing their fingers together.]

[When Blake relaxes, a weight she didn't even realize was hovering over her heart lifted and her fingers laced with her partner's give a brief gentle squeeze. The kiss may not have truly lasted long but the moment certainly feels blissfully endless. And Yang never truly pulls away, instead gently inclining her head so she can rest her forehead against Blake's, smiling softly at her.]

[She stayed as she was, savoring the warmth of the moment and the feeling of the kiss.

After what felt like forever she opened her eyes, finding that smile and returning it.]

Sorry I didn't... let you finish.

[One of Yang's eyebrows goes up at that, and then she smiles, shaking her head gently with a quiet intake of breath. She lets go of Blake's hands but only so that she can pull her into a hug. It's thankfully not a patented Yang Xiao Long bear hug, but it's a tight, purposeful hug all the same.]

[She moved into the warm embrace, wrapping her arms around her and returning it in kind. She felt a rush of emotion but said nothing, not wanting to spoil the moment.]

[That hug lasts a lot longer, the muted tunes of music from the dance below filtering up to the balcony being the only sounds. After a few moments, Yang pulls back just enough so that she can meet Blake's gaze.]

Would you mind another dance?

[She met Yang's gaze and held it, smiling sweetly, sweeter than most might've ever seen.]

I would love another dance.

[The party might have been downstairs but Yang doesn't seem interested in heading back down to it despite her question. Instead, she leans back into the hug and then gently starts swaying with the music drifting up from the dance floor down the steps.]
