The Meme


You are now on a quest to be the very best trainer in all the land! In your own, special way. I mean, everyone has their own thing they seek in the Pokemon world, right? Some want to gather badges. Other people participate in contests! Still others decide to devote their life to research and becoming a Pokemon Professor.


1. You're in a Pokemon battle! Is it a friendly battle? Is it a heated match between destined rivals? Or are you just mugging some preschoolers for their lunch money?

2. Either 1 went pretty well and you're just chillaxing, or 1 went pretty poorly and you're recuperating and healing up, or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 1 because you didn't just fight a Pokemon battle. Regardless of the reasons, you are now at a Pokemon Center.

3. You are traveling on some route or another and enjoying the scenic vistas and the epic scenery of wherever you are. Or maybe you're getting ready to camp out for a while? Well. You're just stopping and smelling the metaphorical roses.

4. You are lost. So this is kind of like 3 except it's less enjoying the ride and more going oh crap what is this this is a cave I wasn't supposed to go into a cave was I? I can't use surf how am I supposed to get through this lake crap.

5. You're participating in a contest! You're getting ready to, you're appealing, you're sabotaging your competition, whatever it takes to get that ribbon.

6. You are somehow involved with a Pokemon Daycare. Maybe your Pokemon is expecting? Maybe you've got this...this egg you gotta haul about until it hatches. Or maybe you don't have enough cash to get your beloved Rattata back so now you're mugging preschoolers for their lunch money. It's a very dark and dire business you're involved with.

[Hope you like catlike pokemon, Pacifica, because you're about to get another one vying for your attention. Out of seemingly nowhere an Espeon appears, quietly pressing her head beneath the girl's arm before letting her back rub against her side, her split tail flicking with content.]

Eeespeon..

[...Well, hello there. Initially startled, Pacifica soon relaxes to the Espeon's sudden company, stroking her back endearingly. Skitty moves its attention from Pacifica to the Espeon, curiously tilting its head at the other catlike creature before batting a paw at it.]

Skitty!

[Pacifica giggles softly and pets the pink kitten with her other hand before returning her attention to Espeon.]

So, where did you come from, little miss?

[razzlemysticist]

[Espeon just ignores Skitty for now, almost purring as she suddenly hops into Pacifica's lap and settles down.

Then, a voice comes over the hillside.]

..And here I thought I gave you more than enough attention.

[bargainhunter]

[Well, that voice is very familiar. Someone's just going to look towards the hills.]

So, she's yours then? ...Should've guessed.

[razzlemysticist]

Mhm. She's...very curious.

[That or very attention hungry, as it appears that the Espeon isn't going to be moving from Pacifica's lap any time soon.]

[bargainhunter]

[Well, it's not like she really minds. Skitty does, however, and with a frustrated mewl, she hops right out of Pacifica's lap and treads right on over to Dipper, sniffing inquisitively at his pant leg.]

Skitty's a curious one too. ...And mischievous. She sometimes causes me a lot of trouble, but I love her anyways.

[razzlemysticist]

[The boy raises a brow, bending down long enough to run a hand over the top of Skitty's head.]

Seems like a lot of Pokemon can be like that.

[bargainhunter]

[Skitty nudges into Dipper's hand, flicking its tail happily.]

Mhm... Well, they're nice to have around, anyway. Even if they're a handful.

[razzlemysticist]

[After petting Skitty for a minute he stands up straight again, as if he's suddenly done with that. Wow rude.]

Indeed.

..So what are you doing?

[He asks, eyeing the copious amount of flower petals on the ground.]

[bargainhunter]

[VERY RUDE. I mean, she's still petting your Espeon, Dipper. She glances down at the fallen petals, then gives a slight shrug of her shoulders.]

Oh, that? I was practicing for a contest with Lilligant.

[Until Skitty got in the way and ruined everything.]

I never really thought about entering one before, so I decided to give it a try for once.

[razzlemysticist]

[What do you want him to do, sit? ..On the ground? GRASS STAINS.]

I see. I've entered a few contests myself.

[And ok he's suddenly pulling back his lapel to show her the various ribbons he's won, pinned there. Not...to brag, or anything.]

[bargainhunter]

[...Dipper, you really ought to GET OVER YOURSELF.]

That is really unsurprising.

[She's not even fazed anymore. After all, the question is "What hasn't Dipper Gleeful done at this point?" And just so she doesn't sound too sarcastic...]

But congratulations!

[razzlemysticist]

[He actually quite likes himself so. No thanks.]

Thank you. I can't help but wonder if I might be facing you on the contest floor one of these days.

[bargainhunter]

[Well, he's the only one who likes himself— I mean.]

Maaaaybe. If it's something that holds my interest.

[razzlemysticist]

Well you're obviously interested enough to practice. It's not all that hard to move up in the ranks, either.

[bargainhunter]

Well...

[She stretches slightly then puts her arms on either side of her.]

It is my first contest after all. I wouldn't want to mess up my first time. ...But okay, sure, why not? Maybe one day we will face off each other.

[Which is admittedly something she doesn't want to happen, but whatever.]

[razzlemysticist]

.....why not practice on me, then?

[Espeon lifts her head slightly at that, but as long as Pacifica is petting her she isn't going to move.]

[bargainhunter]

[Espeon, please.]

...W-What? Are you serious? Right now?

[razzlemysticist]

Sure, why not? Couldn't you use the practice?

[...He didn't mean that in a rude way, honest.]

[bargainhunter]

[It's hard to tell with him anymore. Nonetheless, she nods, but she doesn't want to mess up in front of him.]

Well, yeah, but... Okay, fine.

[razzlemysticist]

Espeon, come.

[Espeon sighs but jumps from Pacifica's lap, walking over to sit next to her trainer.]

Choose your Pokemon and we will begin.

[bargainhunter]

[She is honestly unsure how this is going to go down, but.]

Well, I guess I'll use Lilligant again.

[The flowering Pokémon seems to perk up slightly at the mention of her name, tilting her head to the side.]

[razzlemysticist]

Right. Well then, show me what you've got.

[bargainhunter]

[Don't say she didn't warn you.]

...Petal Dance!

[She's going with her routine from earlier, it seems. Lilligant begins to scatter petals everywhere, each one dancing gracefully through the wind before falling down to the ground around it.]

[razzlemysticist]

[Dipper tilts his head slightly, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Then, suddenly.]

Psychic.

[Espeon steps forward with her eyes and gem glowing, the petals that fell to the ground suddenly being levitated into the air. She flicks her tail, the petals seeming to dance now on their own accord through the air around Lilligant.]

...Now. Try Quiver Dance.

[Since he did hear that attack being called from afar.]
