The Meme

You are now on a quest to be the very best trainer in all the land! In your own, special way. I mean, everyone has their own thing they seek in the Pokemon world, right? Some want to gather badges. Other people participate in contests! Still others decide to devote their life to research and becoming a Pokemon Professor.

1. You're in a Pokemon battle! Is it a friendly battle? Is it a heated match between destined rivals? Or are you just mugging some preschoolers for their lunch money?

2. Either 1 went pretty well and you're just chillaxing, or 1 went pretty poorly and you're recuperating and healing up, or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 1 because you didn't just fight a Pokemon battle. Regardless of the reasons, you are now at a Pokemon Center.

3. You are traveling on some route or another and enjoying the scenic vistas and the epic scenery of wherever you are. Or maybe you're getting ready to camp out for a while? Well. You're just stopping and smelling the metaphorical roses.

4. You are lost. So this is kind of like 3 except it's less enjoying the ride and more going oh crap what is this this is a cave I wasn't supposed to go into a cave was I? I can't use surf how am I supposed to get through this lake crap.

5. You're participating in a contest! You're getting ready to, you're appealing, you're sabotaging your competition, whatever it takes to get that ribbon.

6. You are somehow involved with a Pokemon Daycare. Maybe your Pokemon is expecting? Maybe you've got this...this egg you gotta haul about until it hatches. Or maybe you don't have enough cash to get your beloved Rattata back so now you're mugging preschoolers for their lunch money. It's a very dark and dire business you're involved with.

[Oh yes, it certainly doesn't look useless, Junko agrees. Brownie points to Naegi.]

Hmm. Agility.

[Upon command, the fox Pokémon relaxes and lightens its body, raising its speed. She's not immediately going into offensive.]

[Naegi frowns, not exactly sure how to tackle this opponent, for starters. Better take things as they come.]

Dig!

[In an instant, the pokemon digs it's shovel-like claws into the earth before it, disappearing in a shower of dirt that just narrowly misses it's trainer.]

[Junko barely suppresses a laugh at that; however, her smile only grows when she watches the Pokémon burrow further and further into the ground until it disappears altogether. She makes no move to command her Pokémon; she simply stands there, gazing thoughtfully at the ground. She stays like that for quite a while until finally, after some moment or two, she returns her gaze to Naegi. She parts her lips to speak, and her voice is monotonous as she says one word alone:]

Protect.

[It's no secret that Junko's analytical skills were exceptional, so of course she would be waiting for the moment she knew that Naegi's Sandslash would strike.

And she would counteract it with Protect.]

[Oh that's not even fair. Naegi grits his teeth when Zoroark protects itself, having no choice but to watch as Sandslash bursts from the ground in a shower of dirt, it's claws clashing hard with the barrier the other pokemon had thrown up.]

Swords Dance!

[The pokemon quickly hops away from Zoroark at the command, swiping it's claws back and forth against each other in a motion that resembles someone sharpening knives. A dull aura of red shrouds the pokemon as it does this, it's attack sharply rising.]

[Life isn't fair, Naegi. Especially not when a girl by the name of Junko Enoshima is involved in your life.]

Night Slash!

[Now she's being offensive. Zoroark doesn't hesitate to dart in and slash the Sandslash with its claws as soon as it finishes boosting its attack. Seems like she's playing rough; though, what else to expect from her?]

[CRAP. Sandslash lets out a cry of pain and slides backward at the sudden onslaught that it had no chance to dodge since it still had been raising it's attack. Not to mention Zoroark is like a blur after that Agility.]

Dig, again!!

[Without hesitating, Sandslash disappears beneath the ground once more.]

[She'll be gracious enough to let you get a hit in, Naegi.]

agility...

[Once more, the Zoroark relaxes its body, raising its speed even more. Good luck dealing with that.]

[Naegi keeps his eyes trained on the battlefield, watching for Sandslash to reappear. His Pokemon isn't dumb, and pops up behind Zoroark this time instead of in front of it, aiming a slash at it's back.]

[...Well. That was unexpected, except not really. Nonetheless, Zoroark gives out a pained growl as Sandslash strikes it from behind. That's fine.]

Flamethrower!

[The Zoroark suddenly whirls around, aggressively scorching the Sandslash with fire from its mouth.]

[OH OK FIRE TO THE FACE THAT'S NICE. Naegi jumps as Sandslash wails in pain, nearly falling backwards onto it's spiny back from the force of the sudden burst of flames engulfing it. The damage it sustained from that attack was massive, obviously, but it somehow holds it's ground.]

Rapid Spin!

[Naegi yells, his Sandslash immediately tucking itself into a ball after kicking off the ground with it's foot, sending itself into a violent spin before rushing Zoroark head-on.]

[At least things are now beginning to get interesting. It's better to conquer your enemy when they're fighting back, right? Their defeat isn't as rewarding when it's an easy win, so Junko's very glad that Naegi's reciprocating. Zoroark tries to brace itself for Sandslash dashing towards it; of course, the move hits, but Zoroark counteracts with another Night Slash under Junko's command, swiping at the armadillo-like creature.]

[Sandslash can't dodge since it was in the process of uncurling itself, really starting to bend under the weight of all these attacks.]

Come on, Swords Dance, one more time!

[Panting, it takes a few steps back, raising it's attack sharply a second time.]

[Yaaawn. The rate this battle is going is oh so despair-inducingly boring.]

Night Slash.

[Zoroark moves in again, striking at the Sandslash again.]

[...Oh, maybe that wasn't the best move, considering that that was the last straw. Sandslash goes down with a low grunt, it's legs splayed out as it lies on it's stomach, totally spent.

CHALLENGER JUNKO ENOSHIMA WINS or something.]

[Where's her prize money, Naegi? Nevertheless, guess who's very pleased with herself. It's Junko alright.]

Oho! T'was a victory to be expected. Though, you are certainly an... interesting adversary, human.

[She's just saying that to make him feel better about himself.]

[Boooo. Naegi rolls his eyes a little and fishes a few dollars out of his pocket cause that's all you're getting Junko. This fight wasn't exactly evenly matched anyway.]

Yeah, thanks...I guess.

[She knows you're cheating her out of money, but she's going to let it slide because she loves you oh-so-much~ ♥]

Mhm~ 'course, if you ever want a rematch, just give me a call.

[She'll never pass the opportunity to defeat you a second time, Naegi.]

[The feeling will never be mutual.]

....R~iiight.

[If he wants his Pokemon to die, he'll be sure to give her a ring.]

[That doesn't stop her from trying. With a flourish of her hand, Junko turns and begins to strut off with Zoroark following shortly behind her. Winners don't have to return their Pokémon to their ball.]
