Sometimes, being a muse is a tough job. Sometimes you're working around the clock, and sometimes there are times that you go months without even being noticed. There are even days when you have to scream at the top of your lungs just to be heard, and sometimes the unthinkable happens: you go silent for good.

Either way, it's generally pretty crowded up in the brain of a Mun. Have you ever wondered what it's like up there? ..Well of course not, it's your brain for goodness sake. I never said it wasn't fun to imagine though.

But sometimes? Your muses just need a chance to unwind, take a break, or even blow off some steam...

RULES (AKA Here's how this meme works!! Along with general info and whatnot, please read!):

-This meme takes place in a bar that is a sort of limbo that intersects the headspaces of every mun who posts here! Surely that means the place will either be extremely crowded, or pretty empty.

-Choose two-three of your muses and make a thread with one of their journals, with their names posted in the subject line. It is recommended that you type up a short intro for your characters so someone tagging in knows what they're dealing with.

-Tag into threads with two-three muses of your own!

-When tagging with more than one muse, there are two ways you can do it.

--ONE: Use both journals, swapping journals after each round of tagging.
--TWO: Choose one journal to be the primary journal, and just play both characters. Change the color of the text for the other muses attached to that journal if you choose this route!

-There isn't a right or wrong way to do this, just thread in a way that works for you and your RP partner! Feel free to have just one muse at the bar as well if you'd prefer one-on-one interaction.

-Feel free to choose from the prompts below to get a thread going, or come up with your own!


1. | Who's that over there? | You came to this place to meet some new people right? ..No? Well whatever, might as well mingle anyway. This place has a lot more to do than that dear_mun joint, if anything.

2. | I think we've met before | Oh hey, is that a canon mate over yonder? Better go say hi because if you're a lone-canon warrior in your game-thing, you may never see them again. ...If you're lucky they'll recognize you too, but AUs have become a fairly common occurance in headspaces as of late, so watch out!

3. | What's cookin', good lookin'? | Whether they're a canon mate or someone you've never met before, all you know is that is a very attractive character and you wouldn't mind getting to know them a bit more. What's wrong with a little crossover every now and then? People will ship anything these days.

4. | This drink, I like it. Another! | Looks like you're starting to get a little tipsy with your headspace mates over there. No worries, one of you has to be the DD right? ...well, just make sure you don't wander back into a brain that isn't the one you came from.

5. | You talkin' to me?! | Someone's starting to cheese you off good fashion, and if something doesn't happen soon the fists are going to be flying. Or maybe you've already clocked someone in the nose? In that case, you might wanna take it outside.

6. | Hey pal. Wanna trade muns? | You're absolutely sick of your mun and you wanna give him or her a piece of your mind. Maybe your fellow headspace mates share the sentiments, or maybe you're all on your own. Either way, something's gotta change or you're going to throw in the towel.

7. | Everything is terrible and everything hurts. | Wow. You aren't looking so good over there, buddy. What has your mun done to you? I'm just going to assume terrible, terrible things, and now you're just really upset about it. Someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on would be appreciated right about now.

[Well that was a cry of surprise heard throughout the bar, one indicative of a (literally) brand new muse just now being told her situation. The guy doing the telling sits next to her, completely unfazed by said surprise.]

You'll get used to it.

But it's so weird! How am I supposed to finish high school or go pirating if I'm stuck in someone's head?



...Don't worry about it. If it's even implied to be canon, you will.

[There's a sigh from both, one for the whole thing being confusing, and the other for not knowing how to explain it at all. Help them out a little? Or haze the newbie?]

[Noel couldn't help the tugging feeling on his heart as Syaoran told him about Princess Sakura.

Syaoran nods, a gentle, soft smile spreading on his lips.]

She's my most precious person. There's nothing I wouldn't do for her, even after everything we've been through.

But you couldn't protect her the way you wanted to, and everything fell apart. Just like what happened with me and Serah.

[Syaoran's only able to nod again.]

Everything will work out, though. I'll find a way...for her sake.

[Noel goes silent a moment, looking stunned, as he flashes back to everything he's done for Yeul, and then for Serah. He's the Guardian now, the immortal protector of the seeress.]

I think you'd be able to handle my job a lot better than I do.

[Syaoran takes a sip of his drink.]

No...I don't think I could. I've never watched Sakura...die. I've lost her before, but I always found her again, and we always remember each other. To lose her...and start over, still loving the person she was...I don't think I could ever do that.

But...being a mercenary shouldn't have to mean being a criminal. I mean...well yeah, we do what we can to get paid, but we can choose which requests to not take.



If you're going to be that picky, then you might as well go back to playing pretend with the other kids. You won't make it far if you stop to second guess everything.



I'm not so desperate for money that I'm going to hurt people for it. That's not who I am.

(This is the sort of morality discussion that's been going on between these two for a while now. Both know what it's like to make a living taking missions as they come, but go about it in completely different ways. Whereas one is a humble swordsman of poor luck and incredible skill, the other is a renowned criminal leader and combateer. Pretty big gap between them. Wolf simply scoffs at Ashton.)



That's a shame...you'd be of pretty decent use to Star Wolf. It says a lot about a man who brings swords to a gun fight...with your skill, it's not as stupid an idea as you'd think.

(How Dante always found himself surrounded by women isn't as big of a mystery as one would think. He did, after all, have that kind of charm that attracted all kinds of attention, positive or otherwise. The real trick was using it to get with women he could actually get with.

Instead, he gets a 17 year old and a pony. This level of trolling actually isn't all that new to him. At least they weren't completely draining his wallet...yet.)



Video game characters, huh? Sounds like a party that never ends.



What can I say? The party comes with me wherever I go.



I usually end up following a party for a while until I get bored and look for a new one. Girls like me don't stay in one place for too long, you know?



Yeah, I totally get you. You gotta follow your own rhythm and not someone else's.



Especially in Mexico. That's how you wake up in bathtubs with tons of ice and no kidneys.



...Why does that sound like something you already did?

[He didn't seem to be the only one who couldn't win today. Mika had planted her feet and was doing her best to prevent herself from being dragged along, but the frail wolfgirl was no match for a determined sun goddess. Leaning as far back as she could without spilling her drink, Mika growled ineffectively, trying to nurse whatever liver-killing cocktail she had in her fist along with what seemed to be a new series of injuries.

Not to mention her pride.]

Damn it, Ammy! You're not my mom, leave me the fuck alone!

[She didn't want Dante to see her when she had a new hole in her face. She didn't want anyone to see her right now, she just wanted to drink her vodka and schnapps in peace and hopefully forget her life existed for a few hours. Especially when her injuries seemed to already have started oozing through the heavy gauze pads taped over the left side of her face.]



I think not, you will hurt yourself if I leave you alone. Likely from forgetting how much drink you have had and trying to walk. No, some time with others might be for the best, if only to improve your mood.


No, 's just going to make me mad! I don't want to talk to them!


It is not my fault you have overindulged. I have told you that is a poor way to solve your problems, simply for the fact that it does not solve anything.

[Mika's complaints were ignored, and her mounting frustration and distress at being forced into a social situation left her vocabulary reduced to unhappy noises and something mumbled that sounded distinctly like 'not wanting Dante to see her like this' though she tried to pretend that Dante and his companions weren't there. Simply by not looking at them and willing herself out of existence.

It didn't work at all well.

And it certainly didn't help when Ammy simply rolled her eyes and shoved Mika forward anyway, giving the others a friendly wave as she joined them. Mika managed not to spill anything, muttering a sullen 'hello' before taking a deep pull from her large glass. Whatever she was drinking smelled very fruity, but only to disguise how strong the scent of alcohol was.]

(You know, this is actually very much proving the earlier statement of women being thrown at him. As is usually the case with these women, it's hands off.

Still, the three of them can't help but notice the new addition to their little group and the girl she dragged with her. Of course, the first thing Dante notices, aside from Mika herself, is the very injury she didn't want him to see. He's silent for a moment, but quickly plays off the awkward moment with his usual cocky attitude.)

Alright, alright. Whose ass do I have to kick for that one?

Try not to worry about him too much; Dante's more crass than class, but he's Good company. Speaking of which, you guys planning on hanging out with the cool kids tonight?

[Amaterasu's ears quirk forward and she breaks out in a barking laugh, playfully swatting Mika on the shoulder. The sun goddess does manage to restrain herself enough not to knock her down, though Mika seems to wish she could drop through the floor.]

He is no worse than some of my traveling companions! I have seen him fight though he might not remember me, and this little cub talks of him enough to fill in the rest. Besides, the party does not properly start without me.

[At Asagi's words she laughs again, her lips peeling back from her fangs.]

Oh ho! He could touch me if he'd like, I would not mind at all!

[Amaterasu simply chuckles, swaying her hips a little when she wags her tail just to watch the way Mika looks like she's going to scream at her.]


Wh--! AMMY!

[She almost, almost dropped her drink.]


Or would you rather he touched you?

[The incoherent screech that Mika made was entirely worth Ammy's foul behaviour, and the sun goddess just laughs, her tail wagging more. With a grin, Ammy turns back to the others and lets Mika fizzle on her own.]

My apologies, I am Amaterasu, and my anxious companion is Mika. It is a pleasure. Mika is much more fun when she is not upset, though she has been having a rough time lately. It is why we decided to go drinking for a bit.

[She ruffles Mika's fur to sooth the other wolf's nerves, though Mika makes a strangled noise around her glass mid-sip.]


No, I decided to go drinking, you were the one that tagged along because you heard me saying something about drinks.


And how is it my fault that I enjoy a good meal and drink?

[Now that the teasing was out of the way, Ammy just smiled amiably and waved a clawed hand, her tail wagging.]

It is fine, I little harder to convince young ladies to let me sprawl in their laps and get my ears scratched but this body works well enough. No one questions me now when I drink. As for this one?

[She eyed her companion, clapping her gently on the shoulder and gave it a squeeze. Even holding back Mika made a pained sound in the back of her throat. Ammy grimaced a little and shrugged.]

She needs to get out more, that town is eating away at her from the inside, and unlike the rest of us, she does not have anywhere else to go.



Can we please just stop talking about it...?

[She seems to hunch, downing the rest of her glass and slamming it down on the nearest bar.]

Nice to meet you both. Vinyl, I'm a fan. Asagi, unfortunately I'm not familiar with your canon only because my creator doesn't know it, though I probably should. Whereabouts are you from? You have the look of one of those Disgaea types.



See! She does have manners.



Ha ha grandma. Very funny. But yeah, this clown's the Ammy from Clover, though I'm still disgusted with Capcom for quite a few reasons on her behalf.



Let us not talk about those reasons here. I wish to have a good time this evening, and I intend for you to have the same.

[Her sour look was replaced quickly as she smiles a little ruefully up at Dante, her ears flicking forward.]

I have not, unfortunately. Not since that sparring game was released. It is quite unfortunate, we had some very good times together. I am hoping that I will get to spend time with the new girl, Bayonetta looks like she knows how to have a good time at least.



I don't even want to know what kind of damage you two would wreak on a countryside.

[Mika groans softly, gingerly massaging her forehead around her bandage.]

Seriously being near you is a health hazard.



An adventure is more like it, which you could do with a few yourself! More positive ones at least. These three seem to know a good way to start it.

[Ammy seemed to either completely ignore or didn't notice the way Mika stared at her as if she'd sprouted eight more tails.]

[The teenage boy sitting next to Edward simply glances at him from the corner of his eye, his face almost a mask of complete indifference if it wasn't for the contemplative frown. Edward, in turn, just kind of hums in thought while he swirls the alcohol in his glass around.]

In retrospect, it probably wasn't the greatest idea to bring an underage, recovering serial killer-slash-ninja to a bar.



I'm not that person anymore, [Gaara says simply, shifting in his seat and turning his eyes down to the bar top. Apologies to anyone walking behind him, since the giant gourd on his back definitely isn't leaving a lot of room for movement.]



O-ho, he does speak, [Eddie snarks, taking a drink of his scotch.] And I'm not a supposed criminal mastermind anymore, but people don't seem to get that memo. They'll always see you for what you were, not what you are.



[Surprisingly, Gaara's expression subtly shifts from his blank indifference into something a bit more wistful, and he says nothing more.]

[And here kicking down the door to the place is none other than a very particular muffinhat, who looks rather pleased with herself to say the least.]

Looks like it's open after all, Maizono! Would'a gotten in either way, but now it looks like we can get our drinks legitimately.

...Was it really and truly necessary to kick down the door, Harker-san? That may not be the only thing we're legitimately paying for, you know.

[Sayaka chuckles a little awkwardly--the door wasn't too damaged, but it was handled with the grace of a bull run.

Elisa huffs at that, crossing her arms over her chest.] Come on, girl, get with the program! Ain't like we really need to care--all'a this is outta the kindness of our mun's heart. She's payin' for this shit, so let's get as loud and drunk as possible!! Ya deserve it after going through that game!

I think I'll leave the loud, drunkenness to you, Harker-san--I won't argue that it isn't deserved, though!

[With that, they make their way to the bar, hopping on the nearest seats they can find. Care to join?

[The smaller girl shivers a bit at the thought, scrunching her face up.]

At least you got a syndrome named after your unfortunate circumstances!

[John saw the trailer for Halo 5, and the implication that he might have turned rogue through both Frankie's comment on it and fan theories does not fill him with confidence that he may have a lot of help in either his mun's or 343i's story. In any case, if the lager on hand wasn't obvious, he is not happy about the possibility.

Kotomi Ichinose, fresh out of the first season of her anime canon and currently having John as her legal guardian in this bar, comes to sympathize disliking the caretakers of their canons as she holds her tea. Even if she was one year older to be allowed to drink, she wouldn't trust her constitution by a long shot.]

The extension of a story through unexpected ways is common. A change in the status quo is perhaps one of the most effective ways to show a radical change in a character and a work of fiction to garner interest.


[Not that it comforts him a lot. John keeps looking down.]

Same as muns do.


[This makes her turn her head.]

I have not been in a game, so I cannot know much of what could happen if I did. [And the stories about characters returning from these games fail to make her eager to enter one.] The route of the animated adaptation of the Clannad visual novel promised me a life and work in North America... it could be the only positive route I get from either Key Visual Arts or our mun.

[She wants an OVA of her route. While she hardly harbors hatred towards most people, she had come long ago to the conclusion that the people in Key/Visual Arts were bullies.]



[What could happen... good question. While their mun favored adventure games and PSLs, there will still be dangers. Even if some changes could have been for the best, there is something John learned: If you return home, you will not be the same. He drinks, before thinking.]

Unless you try for a good end.

[As a Spartan, he had to. Kotomi, looking down at her cup before blowing the steam to drink, has to agree. Even if she ends up being summoned for a game.]

Truth was, he didn't know if his story would have a happy ending. He expected for so long to remain on his duty and to die fighting.]

You won't get it you don't work on it.

[But to simply not work on it, fight as if you had already been defeated? Even if he hadn't met Yuuko or remembered Cortana and Lasky's requests, it's something no Spartan could abide.]



[For her part, the girl with pigtails looks from behind John, puzzled by the question about happy endings. Remembering Tomoya's drilled lessons on befriending and introductions, she puts both hands in front of herself and makes a deep bow.]

Hello, I am pleased to meet you. My name is Kotomi Ichinose, a senior in Class A in Hikarizawa High School. My hobby is reading books. I would be happy if you would become my friend.

[Ami outright stares at Kotomi for a moment. Is this girl even serious? Should she even bother answering her?]

I have no intention of becoming your friend. I've never even laid eyes on you before now.

[She has a way of flat absoluteness about that, in her tone. She doesn't deal well with that sort of sudden leap to intimacy; she never has, and in recent years it's only become worse.

As she turns to John, she also seems to have decided this is all that needs to be said on the topic of friendship at all.]

I've worked and I've fought.

[Said brusque response was probably worse than not answering at all. She begins to tear up as she hides behind John.]

Is she a bully? Is she a bully...?

[Not much material for a heroine beside her smarts, the mun admits. Then again, Moemura didn't look like much at first, either. Before she turned into Hommando.]




[John resists the temptation to answer with a blunt yes as Kotomi hides behind him. He turns to her. So much for a happy ending.]

Fighting's not all to it.

[Another of Yuuko's lessons, resounded by Cortana and Lasky on their safari to Earth. No utopia crafted with swords ever lasts. Less so if lacking empathy.]

[Let the girl think she's a bully. She probably is. The one Ami answers is John again.]

Don't start making that sort of speech.

[John recognizes when will talking be useless, even with the times he's spoken with Ami. Without a word, he directs his sight back to the bar.

He puts a hand over Kotomi's shoulder, nudging her to focus back on her drink. The girl takes one last look at Ami before shuffling back to her seat.]

[Ami's eyes linger on Kotomi a moment despite herself. She recognizes that John seems protective of the girl. It gives her a sour feeling.

Instead of stirring up more trouble, however, she simply takes a seat at the bar - beside John.]

[John stays silent, looking down. There was a reason he believed it, or wanted to believe in it, and try not to think it was in vain after the loss of Cortana. Kotomi stood just as silent, until confesses his reasons to think of that.]

I miss home.

[He comes to think, not even his canonical timeline would allow him to have that. Kotomi stays silent, not wanting to think of getting the same feeling if she's ever set into a game or storyline.]

[So says a rather...tipsy, snarky and drunk off her ass commander, who just ran through her 4th drink. Whoops, doesn't look like she hasn't gotten any better at holding her liquor.

At the seat next to her is a blue haired girl, fresh from the clusterfuck that was her entire game's plot, really unsure of what to make of this mess.]



Shepard, right? Shouldn't you hold off on that? You've been drinking an awful lot lately.



[The commander points indignantly towards her, though rather...unsteadily, to say the least of it.]

The hell're you talkin' aboout? [The slur in her voice couldn't have been any more obvious than it was there.] This is nothin' compared to ryncol. That stuff kills people.



[Cue very unamused look from the younger girl.]

...Then why did you even drink it? Better yet, how are you still alive?
