[Gryffindor and Slytherin had been locked in the final championship Quidditch match of the season for hours now. The weather hadn't been the kindest today, leaving the sky grey with the clouds swollen with unshed rain. The wind wasn't pleasant either and had been choppy and unpredictable for hours. Of course, the competing teams hadn't gotten this far for nothing. A little wind and a little rain wasn't going to stop them from completing this match. Heck, a tornado wouldn't even be enough to stop them.
The game had so far stretched well beyond the limits of the matches that had normally taken place this year. Gryffindor and Slytherin had next to no trouble wiping the fields with Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, so by the time they finally got to go head to head the match-up had made a long game predictable. Chasers from both teams had managed to keep the quaffle out of reach of both goals for quite some time, leaving the two houses tied. The only thing that would end this game, it seemed, would be for one of the Seekers to catch the snitch.
And THAT was turning out to be a near impossibility as well, considering the weather. The snitch was nothing but a blur in the clouds and around the bleachers, and before either Turbo or Finn could approach the little ball it would zip away and become lost in the atmosphere once again.
As if to add to the stress of the game, the bludgers were being exceedingly aggressive today. Nobody could pinpoint exactly why- perhaps it had something to do with the weather. Either way, they seemed to be out for blood, if that were possible, and the Beaters on both teams were having trouble keeping them off the backs of their teammates. It seemed at this point that if the game didn't end soon, all of the players would be knocked from their brooms before long anyway. ...And a rematch was not an option.
Panting heavily, Eddy flew up high above the heads of the Gryffindor Chasers, trying to spot Teddy through the steady rain that had his goggles all fogged up. The last time he saw his brother he'd been passed the Quaffle, and had disappeared into the clouds with another Chaser on his tail. He knew the best idea for now would be to stay above the clouds. That's what the two had planned for the match, since the rain had been predicted- use the clouds to their advantage to shake the Gryffindor Chasers, and then juggle the Quaffle between each other and their fellow Chasers to get it back to the goal. Of course that had been easier said than done, but this strategy worked hours ago. It was the reason the two teams were currently tied.]
C'mon Turbo, catch the freakin' snitch. We're dyin' out here..
[Eddy hisses under his breath as he tightens his grip around his broomstick, his eyes still searching the clouds for Teddy. If the game could just end right now, then he'd be satisfied. That was all up to Turbo though, or else they'd be stuck fighting to claim the Quaffle for another four more hours.
While Eddy mulls over this with his teeth gritted in frustration behind his lips, he spots a sudden flicker of movement in the corner of his eye. At first he's not sure what it is. The snitch?..
The Daemon lets out a loud outcry of surprise when someone shoots right over the top of his head at top speeds, the bristles of their broom catching the top of his head. Any closer and they would have collided. He turns his head to scream at the offender, only to see that it's Teddy, rocketing over the top of the clouds with the Quaffle tight under one arm before diving and disappearing again.
Quickly Eddy follows, able to get down just in time to see Teddy approaching Gryffindor's goal. Their plan seems to have worked a second time, and his twin was able to outmaneuver the other Chasers using the storm to his advantage. Eddy takes a breath in preparation to cheer for his brother after he makes the goal, since the Gryffindor Keeper doesn't seem prepared at all for Teddy's sudden appearance.
He, along with everyone else in the air, watches for Teddy to make what is sure to be the tie-breaking goal- ..but it never comes. He leans back on his broom and pulls back an arm, aiming a shot at the goal with his jaw set with determination. Then, out of nowhere, a bludger comes rocketing from around the edge of one of the bleachers.
The sound it makes when it collides with Teddy is deafening, echoing over the entire arena. Eddy feels himself let out that breath as a bellow of horror instead of a cheer, his body lurching forwards on his own broom as he watches Teddy's broom splinter beneath him, sending him tumbling limply off the side. The Quaffle is lost somewhere in the collision, and the crowd- who had been cheering Teddy on- has dissolved into exclamations of horror themselves.
Teddy crashes to the ground just a few feet shy of the nearest bleachers, too far away for anyone to save him. Eddy is still several hundred yards away even though he's flying as fast as he can to get back down to the ground. He vaguely catches a glimpse of Turbo and Finn out of the corner of his eye, both of whom had been chasing the snitch all this time. He doesn't stop though, just dimly aware of the fact that he's nearly barreling into other players himself in his haste to get down there.]
combo 2 and 7 | 4H | TL;DR LIKE WOAH SORRY;
Heck, a tornado wouldn't even be enough to stop them.
