The
Meme
You are now on a quest to be the very best trainer in all the land! In your own, special way. I mean, everyone has their own thing they seek in the Pokemon world, right? Some want to gather badges. Other people participate in contests! Still others decide to devote their life to research and becoming a Pokemon Professor.
1. You're in a Pokemon battle! Is it a friendly battle? Is it a heated match between destined rivals? Or are you just mugging some preschoolers for their lunch money?
2. Either 1 went pretty well and you're just chillaxing, or 1 went pretty poorly and you're recuperating and healing up, or maybe you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 1 because you didn't just fight a Pokemon battle. Regardless of the reasons, you are now at a Pokemon Center.
3. You are traveling on some route or another and enjoying the scenic vistas and the epic scenery of wherever you are. Or maybe you're getting ready to camp out for a while? Well. You're just stopping and smelling the metaphorical roses.
4. You are lost. So this is kind of like 3 except it's less enjoying the ride and more going oh crap what is this this is a cave I wasn't supposed to go into a cave was I? I can't use surf how am I supposed to get through this lake crap.
5. You're participating in a contest! You're getting ready to, you're appealing, you're sabotaging your competition, whatever it takes to get that ribbon.
6. You are somehow involved with a Pokemon Daycare. Maybe your Pokemon is expecting? Maybe you've got this...this egg you gotta haul about until it hatches. Or maybe you don't have enough cash to get your beloved Rattata back so now you're mugging preschoolers for their lunch money. It's a very dark and dire business you're involved with.

Xatu's eyes roll up and look up at Fletchinder when it pecks it, but the pokemon seems virtually unaffected by the attack whatsoever. It simply stands there with it's wings folded neatly at it's sides until Dipper gives it an order.]
Let's see how this speedy little bird likes your Trick Room, Xatu.
[In a sudden rush of air, Xatu throws both wings out with it's eyes glowing brightly, the entire field warped with an unearthly mystical energy. The ground and the air itself seems to waver under the affect, making the area horribly disorienting.]

In any case, Gideon pales as soon as Dipper's Xatu creates a Trick Room, his eyes widening in horror. He should've known that Dipper would pull some trick like this; he totally can't get himself out of this situation either.
Fletchinder no longer could attack first until the Trick Room wore off, and he's not so sure what else Dipper has up his sleeve. He's not so sure if Fletchinder would be able to survive either, but at least if it went down, it would go down trying.]
Nngh...

Psychic.
[Again, Xatu opens it's wings, it's wide eyes suddenly glowing with psychic energy as it blasts a chunk of that energy right at the Fletchinder flying in front of it.]

In any case, Fletchinder squawks in pain as the psychic blast hits it, slamming it down into the ground.]
Uh... Roost! Quick!
[At least Gideon has a healing move on his side, so perhaps he could be able to combat Dipper. Or at least postpone defeat. More than likely the latter. The bird pauses to rest its body, restoring half of its health, then flaps its wings so that it's aloft once more, waiting for the opposing Pokémon to strike.]

Again.
[Again the bird lets loose another Psychic blast, it's eyes narrowed.]

...Razor Wind!
[Fletchinder flaps its wings, creating a whirlwind as it does so. A two-part move. Gideon only hopes that Fletchinder will be able to survive long enough to execute it.]
no subject
Thunder Wave.
[...Wait what that's a bit of an odd attack to be dishing out, but the Xatu complies, a burst of static electricity rocketing toward the bird.]
no subject
It's obvious that the Pokémon is fatigued from the many hits it's been taking, but it musters up the rest of its strength to issue blades of wind from the whirlwind at Xatu.]
no subject
Though Dipper still remains unphased, somehow.]
...Roost.
[HOPE YOU LIKE HOW HIS HP IS SUDDENLY FULL AGAIN.]
no subject
Gideon is so done with this battle. He is so done with you, Dipper. So incredibly done with everything. The boy gives a sigh, rolling his eyes.]
A'ight, Peck! ...Again.
[Once more, the bird flies forward, jabbing the Xatu with its beak. At least he's going down trying.]
no subject
Seems that even paralysis can't slow you down, mm?
Psychic, once more.
[Again, the energy is blasted right at the bird with little warning.]
no subject
If I ain't goin' down without a fight, then my team ain't either!
[Oh, he's going down alright. With a fight and an inspiring speech. Take that, Dipper.
Fletchinder screeches as the burst of energy hits it again, and even it knows that it won't be able to continue on for another round. So, as soon as it lands on the ground, it just stays there, giving out an exasperated moan. ...Well. At least Gideon still had a bit of his dignity left before he was defeated.]
no subject
Dipper just sighs and calls Xatu back, minimizing the pokeball with a thumb.]
Very well done, Xatu. Not like you had to break a sweat, particularly.
no subject
Yeah, yeah, brag all ya want, but I can guarantee ya that one of these days, I'll beat ya.
[ONE DAY.]
no subject
[Just be glad he didn't bring out Alakazam.]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, 'course ya do.
[He huffs, crossing his arms before turning away. Time to rework his team and strategy.]
