Kevin, of course, heard nothing. He only stared ahead with a sad, empty look in his eyes. His gaze hardened after a moment and he stood up, thrusting a hand forward and shattering a rock with a particularly strong burst of energy. He made a fist and stared at it, scowling.
"It's all me," he muttered. "No one wants me. Fine, I'll show them. I can take care of myself."
