[You know, Berk usually was an ok place to live. ...Ok by viking standards anyway. Definitely not ok by ANY standards a normal person would live by- but it had been just fine for Hiccup and his village for decades now. So yeah- ...an ok place.
...He could do without the horrific amount of snow the island got though. Guess that's what you get for living on an island that has snow for literally 9 months out of the year.
It beat the hail at least.
But with the extensive amount of ice encasing just about everything, that made things pretty slow around the village around this time of the year. Sure everybody was used to it, it's not like they weren't used to the cold. And sure, trying to grow food on an island like Berk was nearly impossible to begin with, so trying your hand at farming in a blizzard is just another challenge.
Course, trudging around in the snow was a heck-of-a lot easier when you had both your legs.
Right now Hiccup is sitting on the front steps to his house with his chin in one hand, using his fingers every now and then to pull a chunk of ice from his metal prosthetic. It was such a crude thing that made traversing in this type of climate a nightmare.
So yeah, sitting. Sitting is better than breaking his skull open on the ice.
Good plan.]
